Commission Guide
Process
Welcome to a view behind the scenes regarding commissioned works.
When approached with designing something that will forever be a part of your life, I want to be sure that I get it right (and so do you). I offer an array of sizing options, including custom sizes for canvas and paper works, to ensure I both correctly fit and complement your space - not overwhelm it. As quality is of absolute attention, I only use materials comparable to a museum or fine art gallery piece.
Prior to beginning a commission, clients will be asked to provide examples of works from my available portfolio that they prefer along with a color palette to act as a guide. Clients may dictate general direction of the piece by noting accents or items that they especially appreciate from past works. Upon payment of the 50% non-refundable deposit, the project will begin.
When the work is near completion, images of the near-final product will be provided to the client and a single round of changes from the client (if any) can be requested. Since the product is near complete, items that may be changed include adjusting accent colors and adding minor details but specifically exclude "core" items like the “base” color, as this is an underlying component of the piece and is too late to change in the process.
A commission usually takes 3-4 weeks from the point in time the client provides the necessary artwork references, color palette, etc. to completion. Kindly note that this timeline assumes no additional time to account for a waitlist or shipping/delivery time. Please note that all sales are final.
